Meg Oakley
Meg Oakley had multiple positions during her professional career, including computer programmer, lawyer, and librarian. In 2022, she decided to make another career shift and pursue her passions for nature, supporting her community, and lifelong learning.
Meg’s love for nature and passion for the outdoors dates back to her childhood in Vermont where she grew up among some of the most beautiful landscapes, plants, and wildlife imaginable. More recently, by observing the environment—migratory birds arriving and departing, spring blooms, fall foliage, rain, and snow—she found that these constants in nature kept her grounded and optimistic amid the many pandemic-related disruptions we all experienced.
In 2023, Meg began her position as Volunteer Coordinator for the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia and graduated from the Fairfax Master Naturalist Program. As Volunteer Coordinator, she is excited to be able to support ASNV’s mission to engage all Northern Virginia communities in enjoying, conserving, and restoring nature for the benefit of birds, other wildlife, and people.
