This is the egg of the Canada Goose (Branta canadensis)!

This species used to be migratory (nesting in Canada) but has increasingly become residential, resulting in overconsumption and depletion of aquatic vegetation that many other species depend on. You can help with this problem by preventing Canada Geese from nesting on your property. If you register with this federal program, you can legally addle (shake) eggs or destroy nests on your property. Wildlife management programs like this are a necessary part of preserving biodiversity.
