Northern Virginia Birds is a new ASNV cooperative project by ASNV and several parks in Northern Virginia to encourage active participation in outdoor and environmental learning through the "entry point" of bird watching.
Check out some outstanding opportunities for beginning and intermediate bird watchers which can be found on the Field Trips page. Look for the Northern Virginia Birds logo.
And, look for other features coming soon!
- Links to outdoor points of interest and learning opportunities.
- Pictures of and information about people from various backgrounds and walks of life that watch birds . . . examples of folks whose lives have been enriched by learning about the birds around us.
Yes, it's true "birds" is a verb, and Northern Virginia Birds!
The image at the top of this page is a Kaleidimal created by Marilyn Gaizband using a picture of a Cardinal, the Virginia state bird. Click here for more information about a book of Kaleidimals published by the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia, which is a great resource for children and beginning birders.
