Are you a teen looking for other teens to go birding with? Are you tired of waiting for your parents' schedules to free up long enough to take you on a birding trip? Are you eager to get out birding every chance you get?
If so, join the Northern Virginia Teen Birding Club sponsored by Audubon Society of Northern Virginia (ASNV) and Flint Hill School in Oakton. Both experts and beginners are welcome. The club is led by Fred Atwood, a teacher at Flint Hill, and any dedicated students who express an interest in serving in a leadership role. Atwood has been teaching Biology for over 30 years, leading tropical ecology study trips for over 20 years, and has been teaching field ornithology for over 20 years.
Nolan Britt teacher of Biology and AP Environmental Science at Bishop O'Connell High School is the co-leader. He is a hawk expert and has taught the ASNV workshops on Ornithology and Raptors.
