Speak Up for ParksThe Fairfax County Park Authority is having a series of “listening forums,” opportunities for people to “speak face-to-face” with Park Authority Director John Dargle.
The next forum will be held on July 30 at South Run RECenter, 7550 Reservation Road in Springfield. On September 17, 7 p.m., FCPA will hold a listening forum at Huntley Meadows Park. These meetings are a great opportunity to advocate for issues like more natural resource parks, restoration of habitat, more native plants, reducing our carbon footprint and other conservation concerns. FCPA’s announcement says, “Input and suggestions from this monthly forum is collected and will assist us in determining future decisions regarding the organization and the agency's service delivery.” For Arlington’s parks, you might want to look at some of their planning documents at http://www.arlingtonva.us/Departments/ParksRecreation/scripts/planning/ParksRecreationScriptsPlanningComprehensivePlanning.aspx.
